After nearly a month of having its waters off limits, Meade State Lake is open again for fishing and
boating. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded regulations that placed the lake off limits to fishing, boating and swimming last Friday, but swimming is still not allowed. Park manager Matt Trujillo said Monday the blue-green algae presence was still significant enough that KDHE officials didn't feel comfortable opening the lake to swimming.
