A Day That Unfolded Its Surprises Gradually

I was out for a trip to the deepwater fishing again with few of my friends from Mackay. We were super enthusiastic about the trip though it started off with a few smaller grassys and nannys. We have also hookup a coral trout too. Most of the time was passed catching these only and the first half of the day was not that fruitful. But we were not heart loosen and as the day progressed and the weather calmed out, we ventured a bit wider and started to get into the bigger stuff. A 20kg goldspot cod was the best catch of the day up till now, though we tumbled a lot to make that ours.

Later, to our delight, the sea also blessed us with some big grassies. But the best thing that happened to us was much later part of the day, when we end up catching a large nannygai. The fish was so big in size that I can bet that it’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen in my life. It was a whopping giant of about 13kg. This is an achievement for all of us in its own way and we decided to call it a day there. But that’s not all the day has stored for us. On the way towards home, we stopped at one of the local islands and also boated our first Spanish mackerel for the season.

The day was truly remarkable for me and I am wondering if I could live it once again. I believe patience brings the best results and it has always proved to be true for me.
